History of La Tremoille Hotel
Parisian Luxury Since 1925
La Tremoille was built as a private residence in 1883, and used as a private residence until being converted into a luxury hotel in 1925.
The hotel is named for Louis II de La Tremoille, a famous French General and statesman, who served under three kings, before being killed in combat at the Battle of Pavia. He is also the inspiration behind the hotel’s logo of a mounted Renaissance Knight in full armour… along with the name of La Tremoille’s gourmet restaurant Louis².
The hotel built a steady reputation as one of the finest luxury hotel’s in Paris, and by the 1960s was a hub for the famous and the infamous… and was a favoured haunt of the world’s greatest jazz musicians. In the lobby, old photographs of luminaries such as Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong hang stoically as testament to their frequent visits.
Today, refinement and modernism are intricately combined, and this luxury spa hotel in Paris continues to offer top-of-the-range contemporary services and facilities. The authentic moldings and marble fireplaces look in place next to the latest technologies and creature comforts… whilst the Aubusson tapestry of the main staircase blends seamlessly with the modern furnishings throughout the exquisite hall.
Here you will experience a journey through Parisian history and luxury, combined with comfort, artistry and a majestically contemporary feel.
